Raiders general manager Mike Mayock hasn’t been on the job for long but he’s already made a blockbuster trade to shake up the NFL.

The Raiders will reportedly send a 3rd and a 5th round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for wide receiver Anotonio Brown, who will also sign a new contract with the Silver & Black.

Brown’s new contract equates to three years, over $50 million ($30 million guaranteed).

The Raiders entered the offseason with over $60 million in cap space so they certainly had the space for such a big cap signing.

Brown leads the league in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown receptions since he entered the league in 2010 and is coming off another 100-reception season (his sixth in a row). In 2018, he caught 104 passes for 1,297 receiving yards and a league-high 15 touchdown catches.

Mayock and the Raiders needed to find a new number-one receiver after the former front office traded wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys midseason last year.

Adding Brown gives Jon Gruden and Derek Carr an explosive target that can run any route on the tree.

Brown tweeted about his excitement to join Carr early Sunday morning.
