Oakland Raiders general manager Mike Mayock kept a piece of his defensive rotation Sunday, agreeing to a new deal with defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted the news.

Hankins signed a one-year deal with the Raiders last offseason and became a key piece of the defensive line rotation, finishing with 36 tackles but no sacks.

The 6-foot-2, 325 pound 26 year old would have become a free agent when the new league started Wednesday if he did not reach a new deal. Details of his extension were not immediately made available.
